Length of Schooling
One semester (about 4 months)

To visit Wenzhou Museum and Wenzhou Folk Museum
To visit Wenzhou’s natural scenery of the humanities

1． CHIN 1101: Basic Chinese I ……3 credits
Introduction to the Chinese Mandarin language, focusing on the nature between language and Chinese culture. Emphasis on developing grammatical competence and communicative skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Chinese. Not open to native speakers of Mandarin Chinese. Six credits must be successfully completed to fulfill the three credit hours for General Education Disciplinary Requirement. Lab required.
Prerequisite: 0-2 years high school Chinese equivalent and permission of instructor. Not open to native speakers of Mandarin Chinese
2． AS 3116 : Introduction to Chinese Civilization ……3 credits
A general survey of Chinese civilization, from antiquity to the present, with an examination of traditional Chinese society and thought from ancient times through imperial China, with an emphasis on the establishment of the empire, the flowering of Chinese culture, and the rich array of intellectual and social development that occurred during the middle and later empires, ending with the exploration of modern Chinese civilization after 1911.
3． AS 3211 : Chinese Literature in Translation I ……3 credits
Broad overview of the literature and civilization of traditional China. Introduction to major work by Chinese writers and of the Chinese cultural context.Understanding of literary theory in general. Knowledge of Chinese not required. Prerequisite: None
4． AS 3416 : Chinese Popular Culture and Films ……3 credits
This course provides students with a broad overview of the development of cinemas from China, Taiwan and Hong Kong by introducing them to major works by Chinese directors and of the Chinese cultural context. Knowledge of Chinese not required.
5． AH 3750: The Arts of China ……3 credits
The art of China from Neolithic time to the Ch’ing Dynasty
6． ID 4100: China During the Age of Confucius ……3 credits
Ancient China from late Neolithic early imperial times with special emphasis on the Eastern Chou period (770-221 B.C.) An interdisciplinary approach to the history, geography, art, written tradition and archeology of China in this early period of its development
7． HIST 3410: China in the 20th Century ……3 credits
A study of Nationalist and Communist China with special emphasis upon the rise of nationalism and the issue of modernization
Prerequisite: Six hours of history or Permission of instructor
8、702000501L Cross Cultural Relations ……3 credits
This course emphasizes on analysis the differences of the way of act and communication from Chinese and foreigners; showing the main differences between values from different nationalities by using Cross-cultural Communication theory. Student should learn to use the vision of culture to know others and themselves better.
Registration fee: 400RMB/person
Note: The tuition does not include the fees of food, medical treatment, insurance, teaching materials, and transportations.
Residence Hall, Dining, and Cost
1.) Residence Hall: public living room with couches and tables; kitchen with microwaves; and a Laundromat style laundry room with coin washers.
Standard double bedrooms:
A private bathroom with a shower applying 24 hours hot water
Air-condition, TV, a fridge, a telephone
Internet with hard-wired (35RMB/month)
(It is available for one student rent the whole double bedroom)

2.) International Students can use the entire dining halls in Wenzhou University.
There are 4 students dining house and many dining rooms with different flavors. They will satisfy the students over the world with different requirement of food.
Dining fee is about 15RMB/meal and vary individually.
