CIE Online Courses Add Pizzazz

Against the background of prevention and control of COVID-19, learning conditions are changed, as well as teaching conditions, but all our lecturers and staff remain true to our original teaching aspiration. To improve teaching effectiveness and further develop online courses, CIE has fully used excellent teaching resources of the education system and greatly made the educational information through online courses more pizzazzy. The following are four examples.

E.g. one: Li Yi, the lecturer of Advanced Mathematics  and Basic Mathematics , has designed a mini-program for students to sign in and attain students geographical location information. In addition, he made the teaching platform easier for international students by primarily using Zoom, and carried out classroom functions for student sign-ins, notices, Q&A by using Wechat.

       E. g. two: Xu Lili, Jin Bi and Wu Xiaofei, co-lecturers of Chinese , have opened a Wechat official account to release teaching information, such as teaching videos, homework, and knowledge of common sense thinking in the culture. They aim for the account to enable international students, who are scattered around the world, to learn Chinese as well as Chinese culture during this special time. At the same time, they have arranged tests of each module for students through Wenquanxing, answered students questions in Wechat, and carried out periodical questionnaires to ensure international students learning effectiveness.

      E. g. three: Zhang Minlu, who had been sent to work in the Italy campus in Jan. 2019 and returned in Jan. 2020, has carried out online courses as required from Italy student requests. She sent her recorded teaching videos, teaching PPT and audios, as well as HSK exercises to Italy students for their further learning.

     E. g. four: Yi Yongyi, the lecturer of Intermediate Chinese Writing and Modern Short Story, has opened a Wechat official account together with Chinese major students with the aim to inspire international students’ Chinese writing. In this official account, international students can learn and mimic Chinese literature, Chinese students can share their learning experience abroad, as well as students can enhance cultural communication between themselves.
