Employment-oriented Bachelor Program for Thai Students Supported by WZU and WCCT


 

 

After graduation from Wenzhou University (WZU) with excellent Chinese language proficiency and business knowledge, Thai students will fulfill their promises to work for local enterprises run by Wenzhouese. On April 1st,it was learned that WZU and Wenzhou Chamber of Commerce in Thailand (WCCT) had jointly launched a full scholarship program, enrolling 15 Thai students for its first session which will start in September this year.  

This program is a four-year bachelor program with business Chinese as its training orientation. According to the requirements of Wenzhouese enterprises in Thailand, WZU will arrange directional internships for Thai students during their study here. “With an increasing number of Wenzhou enterprises start up business in Thailand, there is an increasing demand for employees, who are familiar with the national conditions of both China and Thailand, as well as their people’s languages, especially in industries like culture, economy and trade, and services.” Ye Miao, dean of College of International Education,  WZU, said. “In order to solve the problem of lacking competent employees, WZU and WCCT have signed an agreement to launch this employment-oriented Education Program.”

College of International Education of WZU has always attached great importance to the cooperation with colleges and universities of Thailand. Years before, together with Burapha University, WZU established a Confucius Institute, carried out joint degree programs, teacher exchanges, cultural and artistic performances. Recent years, WZU has actively promoted cooperation with Thai colleges and universities in the areas of international promotion of Chinese language, cultural and academic exchanges, and pushed forward intercultural youth training and inter-school friendly exchanges and cooperation.

WCCT is a non-profit social organization registered in Thailand, who will join with WZU to pick eligible students to study at WZU, and provide full and partial scholarships for Thai students with excellent academic performance to encourage them to study hard to make a contribution to better economic and cultural cooperation and exchange between China and Thailand. These students, with fluent Chinese and good business knowledge at graduation, will have promising career.
