International Food Festival of the 5th International Cultural Week

On the afternoon of November 18, International Food Festival of the 5th International Cultural Week successfully held in the Cafe bar on the first floor of Building 3 on the North Campus.

More than 20 kinds of different dishes, like dumplings, spaghetti, Korean bibimbap, Japanese Sushi, American chips, Macaroni Cheese, from different countries, such as China, America, Zimbabwe and so on, were prepared for 400-odd teachers and students. Whats more, six international students from Zimbabwe, Nigeria and Zambia brought their own hand-made food to share with others. Mashiri Rejoice Shyline from Zimbabwe said, Since there are many international students from different countries, I want to share with them food of my hometown. Meanwhile, I feel so happy that I have the opportunity to enjoy the food of different countries like Nigeria. I hope this kind of activity can be carried out as much as possible, so as to alleviate our homesickness. Foreign teacher Trenton Glore also brought food made by himself here offering an opportunity to teachers and students to know American food. He said that he wished to bring the most popular American food to us all.

The international food festival was sponsored by the International College and organized by the International Student Branch. Members of the International Student Branch took part in every step, from designing the activity, purchasing food to maintaining the activity order. They have exerted great effort to ensure a better food festival for both teachers and students. The international food festival, held once a year, is an important part of our International Culture Week. We hope these activities could draw teachers and students both from home and aboard close while enable them to enjoy the food from all over the world and get to know more  cuisine culture of China and foreign countries.
