On the afternoon of October 13, CIE held the 2021 Awarding Ceremony for Outstanding Students in HSK in College Conference Room 311. Lin Aiju, Secretary of the CPC CIE Committee, and Fang Jianxiao, Vice Secretary of the CPC CIE Committee, attended the ceremony, and Xiong Yong, Vice Dean of the CIE, hosted the ceremony.
According to the Rules on Quality of Higher Education for Overseas Students(Trial) published in 2018, international students must reach certain level of Chinese language skill. In the bid to encourage international students to learn the Chinese language, get a good understanding of Chinese culture, and help them become ambassadors of foreign and Chinese cultures, CIE launched a project to improve international students’ Chinese, as well as the Awards for Wenzhou University International Students Taking HSK to support student learning. Up to now, we have many students who have passed the HSK becoming the first batch of students who received the HSK scholarship.
Chen Catarina and Luhwago Joshua Charles, the representatives of the scholarship, gave their acceptance speeches and said that they would continue to study Chinese thoroughly, and that only by being practical could they gain something. Looking at the bright smiles on the faces of the HSK scholarship winning students, we believe they will continue to work hard and make more progress in the process of learning Chinese.
