On the evening of January 21, 2022, the second online recruitment for 2022 autumn semester held by CIE went on smoothly on the livestreaming platform Dingtalk. The recruitment was open for students, especially from Vietnam, attended the 2022 Wenzhou University “Chinese Bridge” Online Camp, which was sponsored by Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Chinese Ministry of Education during January 6 to 21, 2022. Since students of this online camp has a strong Chinese language ability, the whole process of this online recruitment was done in Chinese.
Mr. Xiong Yong, Vice Dean of CIE, introduced Wenzhou and Wenzhou University(WZU) to students attending this online recruitment. He showed the campus and the living and studying areas for international students by pictures, explained the overall teaching ability and the ranking of WZU by graphs and data, and presented featured majors by videos and detailed description. After Xiong, Mrs. Even introduced and explained the tuition fee, scholarship and application procedures to international students in detail.
There were 152 students attended this online recruitment. And since most of the students were coming from the same country, and have a good master of Chinese, our information for them was more accurate and useful. They were informed of our policy that if their Chinese is good enough to reach some certain level, they could apply for entering into a class of all Chinese students to enjoy a more authentic Chinese cultural learning environment.
As majors such as Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, Chinese Literature, and International Economy and Trade are hot spots in Vietnam, we are now working closely with Vietnam organizations to recruit more Vietnam students to study in these majors in WZU.
