Associate Professor Tu Haiqiang, Supervisor of masters majoring in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, led three master students, Li Zhiyao, Liu Chuntong and Zhang Lina, to participate in this competition. The students showed their outstanding teaching skills and extending knowledge in the major which won them the second prize(Li Zhiyao, Liu Chuntong) and third prize(Zhang Lina). the battle calmly in the competition, played an outstanding role in lecture, teaching and question-and-answer. Meanwhile, Professor Tu Haiqiang won the honorary title of Excellent Instructor.
From November 23 to 25, the 2nd National Summit Forum on the Construction of National First-class Undergraduate Majors in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages and the 3rd "Chinese +" Teaching Skills Competition was held in Zhejiang Yuexiu University. Leaders and professors from the Association of Comparison of Chinese and Foreign Languages and Cultures, Institute of World Literature and Comparative Literature of Zhejiang University, and Chinese Teaching Steering Committee of Colleges and Universities of Ministry of Education have made up the organizing committee.

I. Lectures at the Summit Forum
On the morning of 24th, the Summit Forum was presided over by Professor Liu Zhaoming, vice President of Chinese Language and Culture Institute in Zhejiang Yuexiu University and started with the opening speech from Professor Hu Bofan, Party Secretary and Doctoral Supervisor Zhejiang Yuexiu University.
Experts and scholars gathered and expressed their opinions, and made an in-depth discussion on the present situation and development of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, which provided new ideas and methods for its development. This summit forum includes 10 expert academic lectures in the morning and 4 group discussion meetings in the afternoon. Professional academic thinking, novel research strategies and unique research perspectives have made the scholars present benefit a lot, making the summit forum of great significance.

II. "Chiniese +" National teaching skills competition
The third "Chinese +" National Teaching Skills Competition in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages was also held at the same time. There are 35 universities participating in this competition, including Shanghai International Studies University, Shanghai Normal University, Shandong Normal University, Sichuan University and Central China Normal University. The contestants include master students and undergraduates, totaling 110. In this competition, the contestants were divided into 3 groups of undergraduates and 2 groups of postgraduates. The 5 groups of contestants competed simultaneously from 13:00 pm to 18:00 pm on the 24th and from 8:00 am to 11:30 am on the 25th according to the drawing number. The competition includes three parts: introduce lesson, give lesson, and question and answer, totaling 30 minutes. To ensure the fairness and justice of the competition, no personal information would be disclosed to competition judges during the whole process.

For a long time, we’ve not only attached importance to improving students' professional knowledge, but also to cultivating students' teaching skills, therefore the quality of our graduates has been steadily improved. This competition shows the educational achievements of our college, improves practical ability and professional quality of our students of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, and accelerates the discipline construction.
