From the beginning, Lunch with the Dean, is always warmly welcomed by international students, as it has helped them solve practical problems they face. The fourth Lunch with the Dean was hosted in the spirit of providing international students quality services following the previous three lunches.
Xiong Yong, Vice Dean of the CIE, hosted Lunch with the Dean at noon on October 15, 2021. The participating students came from Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Botswana, and other countries. They were respectively undergraduate, graduate and advanced Chinese language students from the College of Business, the College of Law, the College of International Education, and the College of Construction and Engineering. Knowing the previous lunches, they actively signed up for this mealtime event, hoping to express their views on behalf of other students and willing to give their suggestions for the development of international education at our school.

Mr. Xiong had lunch with the students and asked them about their studies and living conditions. He said that international students should spend more time in their Chinese language learning, improve their Chinese language ability, try their best to know China and Wenzhou by taking full advantage of the school's learning platform and activity opportunities, and become ambassadors of culture exchanges between China and other countries. In response to Mr. Xiong’s kind and heartfelt opening words, the students opened up and told Mr. Xiong their study plans, life aspirations, and some confusions they encountered. Ragontse Angel Atang, a student from Botswana, mentioned that students outside the country had some difficulties in accessing the Internet and were very worried that they would not get enough credits to graduate. Chisala Herbert, a student from Malawi, said her academic performance has improved compared to that of last year and she was striving to pursue a higher level scholarship. After listening carefully to the opinions and suggestions of the international students, Mr. Xiong said that he would bring their feedback to the questions and suggestions to the relevant departments and colleges.

The lunch ended in a pleasant atmosphere, and the international students spoke highly of the event and said they would be more actively involved in the college and look forward to participating in more college activities in the future.
