On the evening of Novermber 3rd, 2022, International Technology Cooperation Base for Laser Processing Robots in Wenzhou University(Laser Base) held a welcoming party for 2022 fresh postgraduate students. Dean Song Zhanmei from Overseas Students Education and Services was invited to the party to meet all new students.


This fall semester, the first 12 international students from Nigeria, Yemen, Djibouti and other countries were successfully enrolled in the Master's Program in Mechanical Engineering at the Laser Base. A Base Mentor Scholarship for international students has been set up, providing each international student with a scholarship of RMB 6,000 per year for three years in row. It was the first special scholarship at the college level in the history of the university's international student recruitment and training.
Xue Wei, Director of the Laser Base, previous Vice President of WZU, had given a speech at the party. In his speech, he introduced the setting background, development, core team members, research achievements and services for local economic and social development of the Laser Base. What’s more, he highlighted the effectiveness of methods in attracting and nurturing international talents and the innovation model of transforming scientific and technological achievements.

Dean Song Zhanmei welcomed and congratulated all fresh international postgraduates and advised them to cherish the high-tech and international teaching and research facilities as well as the wonderful study and living environment they’ve been endowed at the Laser Base. She hoped that these new students could try their best to gain academic knowledge and practical skills, so as to lay a solid foundation for their future personal development and growth, and make contribution to the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, and the friendly exchange and cooperation between China and abroad as well.

After the speeches, all students and guests presented were invited to enjoy the buffet, while faculty representatives and typical alumni were invited to share their feelings of studying in WZU. In addition, they were also invited to appreciate warm and wonderful cultural performances, including international master students' talent show, Chinese graduate students' guitar playing, faculty representatives' poetry recitation, interactive games for faculty and students, and base faculty and staff chorus.
