The 45th Sports Meeting of WZU was held during November 17th to 18th. International students actively participated in the phalanx performances at the opening ceremony and competitive sports items as well, showing their youthful, enthusiastic and hardworking sports spirit.

On the morning of November 17th, a phalanx of Chinese and foreign students, led by a Russian student NIKOLAICHUK MAKSIM, from the College of International Education showed up in the opening performance, demonstrating harmony and unity among students from different cultures.
Among these students in the phalanx, there were ten students from Nigeria and Zimbabwe danced to the music. Their traditional African dance attracted the attention of the audience and brought warm applause, adding foreign factors to our sports meeting. In the front of the rostrum, several master's students of TCSOL also from the College of International Education pulled up a bright five-pointed star with red silk cloth, which symbolized the profound friendship between Chinese and foreign students and the exchange and collision between Chinese and foreign cultures. The performance concluded with a slogan "I love China, I love WZU". This phalanx team gathered more than 40 Chinese and foreign students from many countries in Asia, Africa and Europe, who actively participated in daily rehearsals, hoping to present their best spirit to the students and teachers on site.


International students participated in the relay, javelin, shot put and other track and field events, and won the sixth place with overall scores among the student groups. What was worth mentioning was that four international students MAKONI TATENDA、CHIDAKUZA MISHMA、MADUBEKO SAMSON MENGEZI、 MARECHA KELVIN won the first prize in the men's 4x100m relay.

Xie Shuhua, Secretary of the WZU CPC Committee, personally presented medals and certificates to the international students who won the third place in the men's 4x400 relay.

Lin Aiju, Secretary of the CIE CPC Committee, presented medals and certificates to the international students who won the first place in the men's 4*100 relay.
