Wenzhou University Welcome 2018 International Freshmen


“I like Wenzhou University very much. I like the fresh air and the environment here. I like the mist on Da Luo Mountain. I also like to learn Chinese. This is why I went back to Wenzhou University again.” A student named SCANU VIVIANA of Italy, have been studying at our school for half a year as an exchange student from the Oriental University of Naples. After returning to Italy, she missed Wenzhou University and wanted to study Chinese here. This year she re-applied to become a graduate student of Wenzhou University. .

From October 9th to 11th, 2018, Wenzhou University welcomed more than 160 international freshmen from 50 countries like SCANU VIVIANA. They are distributed in 14 majors of our school.

Many of the international freshmen this year are students who continue to return to Wenzhou University after exchange students or Chinese language studies like SCANU VIVIANA. Many of them are attracted by the environment of Wenzhou University and the various activities for the international students, such as "I Love China Year" and "Sensing China" series. There are still many students who want to continue their studies here and learn Chinese knowledge and Chinese culture. GALLOWAY AMY HANNAH from the United States said that she hoped to learn more about China at Wenzhou University. She also hoped to participate in school activities with the new students , and learn both Chinese Language and Chinese culture altogether.

It is reported that in order to help international freshmen adapt to campus life as soon as possible, assisting them to understand China's laws and regulations, and school rules, professional settings, curriculum arrangements, etc., International Education School has prepared a five-day initial education activity for them. Through a variety of lectures and visits, the freshmen will have a comprehensive understanding of the campus environment and regulations as well as cultural atmosphere of Wenzhou University, so that they can adapt to the new life abroad more quickly and smoothly.
