In the coming of the 27th World Book Day, CIE’s 3 faculty and 11 international students made a tour to Wenzhou Sanyang Wetland, also called the "Venice of Southern Zhejiang", and enjoyed a unique spring poetry party on its green lawn on April 21.
The first part of the poetry party was a game named "Pass the Parcel". With the exciting music playing, students quickly passed a bottle, and when the music stopped, the students who got the bottle had to read aloud the tongue twisters and ancient poems prepared by the teacher. After the game went on for a few rounds, the atmosphere gradually became lively. The second game is "You Say, I Guess", a team game to test the cooperation and understanding between teammates. As the students enjoyed the game so much, they laughed continuously, attracting many tourists and pedestrians stopped to watch. Therefore, the losing team had to chat with the tourist and take a picture of themselves talking together.
After the opening two games, the poetry party went to the main part——reciting classic Chinese poems. Ms. Li prepared a poem "You are the April Days on Earth" by Lin Huiyin, guiding students to appreciate and understand the beauty of the language and words contained in the poem as well as the charm of Chinese culture. At the end, the students read the last two lines of the poem in English, Portuguese, Arabic, Hindi, French, Hindi and Nigerian, "You are love, you are warmth, you are hope, you are the April days on earth!"
Spring is not perfect without poetry. In this most beautiful April days on earth, the international students lived up to the spring light and poetry, feeling the unique charm of Chinese poetry and conveying warmth and hope with poetry. Though, the spring poetry party has come to an end, the next romantic poetry date is on the way.
