Recently we received reply from the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of the Ministry of Education who approved to set up “Secretariat of China-U.S. Youth Maker Exchange Center” inside our campus.

China-U.S. Youth Maker Exchange Center is a key measure for implementing the exchange and cooperation in innovation and entrepreneurship amongst young people in both nations under the facilitation of presidents from both countries. Since the establishment of the exchange center, the Ministry of Education has already listed 29 institutions including Tsinghua University, Fudan University and Wenzhou University. Under the active promotion from the listed institutions, the China-U.S. Youth Maker Exchange Center has become an important place for the innovation and entrepreneurship education across China and will play a key role in training innovation and entrepreneurship talents, strengthening academic exchange, and enhancing the transformation of technological and scientific research achievements.

Wenzhou University was authorized to set up China-U.S. Youth Maker Exchange Center in July 2019 and successfully hosted the China-U.S. Youth Maker Exchange Center Seminar in December in the same year. In 2020, our International Postgraduate Student Program in Education was awarded the Excellent Work Award; in 2021, the China-U.S. Youth Maker Exchange Center of Wenzhou University won Innovation and Empowerment Demonstration Award.

The establishment of Secretariat of China-U.S. Youth Maker Exchange Center will improve information transmission, facilitate the inner construction of Maker Center, assist young makers to realize the application of innovative program findings and industrial development, promote high-quality resource sharing, facilitate international partnership and exchange, and introduce China’s experience and achievement in innovation and entrepreneurship.
