Songkran’s Festival, which marks the New Year on the ancient Thai calendar, is one of the most celebrated festivals in Thailand. Songkran is also a time to reunite with family members, but this year, for most Thai students, is their fist time stay in other country and welcome New Year’s coming without accompany of their family.
On the ceremony, Thai student shared the history, national dance, and traditional food for Songkran’s festival with all people on site. After the ceremony, they turned the celebration into a water carnival. All students enjoys pouring water on others and being soaking wet, as water is symbolic of the purging of all ills, misfortune and evil and a fresh start of the New Year.
