International student from CIC, Wenzhou University, qualified to participate in the national finals of “Chinese Bridge”

International student Kateryna Zvonkova from College of International Cooperation, Wenzhou University, qualified to participate in the national finals of “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Students.

67 international students from different colleges and universities all over Zhejiang province took part in the 6th “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Students at the Zhejiang University of Technology on the 23rd and 24th of May, 2013. Kateryna Zvonkova, our international student from the Ukraine, won an award in the finals for her excellent Chinese talk and brilliant performance.

The first round of the match comprised a self introduction, talent performance and Q & A session, based on which the judges chose the top 26 performers for the next round. Kateryna Zvonkova won praise from all the judges and advanced to the finals because of her perfect Chinese poetry reading and wonderful Zhenhuan type talking. (Zhenhuan type is a traditional Chinese manner of speech which has been popularized by a TV play named Zhenhuan)

The “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Students in China is co-hosted by Hanban, the Confucius Institute and CCTV. Kateryna Zvonkova will go to Beijing for the finals with five other international students on behalf of Zhejiang province.
