"New Era, Said by Foreign Students" Chinese Speech Contest Held

In the afternoon of October 25th, Wenzhou University’s “China’s new era in the eyes of international students” A Chinese speech contest was held in room 201, Building 3, North Campus by International Education School.

With the theme of “New Era”, the speech contest showcased the unique views of international students on China, Zhejiang high-end technology manufacturing capabilities, modern new agricultural technology, and traditional Chinese folk culture. MAMASOBIROV MIFTOKHIDDIN, a student from Uzbekistan, compared traditional festivals between China and his own country on the basis of the Mid-Autumn Festival experience in Wenzhou University. He said that eating moon cakes at school during the Mid-Autumn Festival was a very warm thing, feeling just like at home. Wang Han, from Ghanam, was ingenious with a title of “a Story of a Young Man from Ghana”, sharing his interesting experiences of studying and living in China with the teachers and students. When talking about China in his eyes, JENG ABU BAKARR from Sierra Leone said that China's technological development, fast payment methods, smooth transportation network and convenient travel modes have made life here very comfortable. He looked forward to continue living in China in the future to learn more, travel to more cities and Indulge in everything here. In the end, the judges presented prizes to the students who won the first, second and third prizes respectively.

With the increase in the size of international students and the improvement of comprehensive quality, the Chinese language level of international students has also been enhancing year by year. The Chinese speech contest has served great importance to stimulate them to integrate into the campus culture through learning Chinese and speaking Chinese as well as actively participating in the activities inside and outside the school.
