In the afternoon of May, 29, the online graduation project defense for the international undergraduate was held in CIE. The graduation project defense committee was made up of four lecturers, including Xu Lili, Jin Bi, Zhang Minlu, and Zhou Jinghan. Though lecturers and students came across some difficulties in time zone differences, internet stability, and app usage during this time of pandemic, the online graduation project defense completed orderly and successfully. 

In order to ensure the defense went smoothly, lectures and students made a rehearsal of the defense through the app Zoom in advance. During the defense, students made a ten-minute personal statement by sharing their PPT, then lecturers made a remark on each student’s graduation project and gave them suggestion for further improvement. After the defense, lecturers had a discussion about students’ performance, shared their opinions holding the graduation project defense in an online mode, and made a conclusion about the advantages and disadvantages of the online mode and improvement measures. 

During the pandemic, our Teaching and Research Office for Chinese Language Promotion established a working group of graduation project and made working rules to optimize the guidance for graduation project. All these efforts achieved great success.
