Wenzhou University Strengthens Ties with Ouhai Police on International Student Management

June 19, 2024——Vice President Wang Shun led a delegation from Wenzhou University(WZU) to the Ouhai District Public Security Bureau on Thursday morning to enhance cooperation on international student management and address visa-related challenges. The delegation included Xia Yuanzhi, Dean of the College of International Education(CIE), and Ding Qiang, Deputy Party Secretary of CIE. They were warmly received by Zhang Jie’er, Deputy District Mayor and Director of the Ouhai Public Security Bureau.

During the meeting, Vice President Wang highlighted the achievements and distinctive features of the university’s international education programs. He expressed gratitude for the bureau’s longstanding support in legal guidance, visa assistance, and exit-entry administration for international students. Noting the growing number of international students and the university’s commitment to global engagement, Wang emphasized the need for streamlined visa and residence permit procedures. He also sought collaboration on graduate management, special case handling, and career support for international students, underscoring the university’s goal of cultivating globally minded talents who foster China-friendly ties and contribute to WZU’s international community.

The discussion covered key issues in student management, with Director Zhang commending the university’s efforts in international education. He pledged to establish dedicated communication channels and explore solutions to better support the university’s needs.

The meeting concluded with both sides agreeing to strengthen regular coordination. Moving forward, WZU and the Ouhai Public Security Bureau will refine collaborative measures to improve the quality and efficiency of international student services.
