Three international students from Wenzhou University (WZU) have won awards at the 19th “Dream in Zhejiang · Sing for the Future” Chinese song competition, giving WZU the highest number of prizes among all participating universities.

The event, held at Hangzhou Dianzi University, drew over 250 contestants from 41 universities across Zhejiang. It was organized by the Provincial Department of Education, the Provincial Government Information Office, the Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, and the Provincial Radio and Television Group.
All three WZU students made it to the winner’s circle: two second prizes and one third prize.

Ella from Cameroon took a second prize with her emotional performance of There Is a Kind of Sadness. Rizki Anugrah from Indonesia also won second prize, impressing the judges with his Chinese skills and heartfelt delivery of I’ve Really Fallen for You.
La Van Dat from Vietnam earned third prize for singing I Love You, China.
“This competition was a great chance to show what I’ve learned in Chinese,” La Van Dat said. “It also reminded me that music and language can cross any border. I feel honored to express my love for China through singing.”
The competition is part of the 19th “Dream in Zhejiang” series, designed to help international students showcase their talent and Chinese language ability while celebrating Chinese culture.
The results highlight WZU’s success in fostering globally aware talent and cross-cultural exchange. The university says it will keep supporting international students in cultural activities, helping them become friendly voices for China and Zhejiang.
