Wenzhou University hosted a forum on May 29 to discuss international student management, bringing together over 40 officials and representatives from local universities and government departments.
The meeting highlighted the “Study Safe” digital platform, a pilot system developed by the Wenzhou Public Security Bureau. Using big data, the platform integrates administrative services, daily management, and security alerts to boost efficiency and oversight. A live demo showcased its core functions.

Participants discussed data sharing between universities and police, visa transitions for graduates, and off-campus supervision. Universities also shared best practices, with Hangzhou Dianzi University presenting its innovative approaches.
In closing remarks, Du Jian, Senior Inspector of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education, urged stronger strategic planning, enhanced safety measures, and closer collaboration with public security agencies. The forum strengthened inter‑university and government‑university coordination, paving the way for more digitized and systematic governance of international student education in the region.
