With the aim of fostering people-to-people exchanges and mutual understanding and friendship between Chinese and Indonesian youth, Wenzhou University will hold the "Hello! Wenzhou – Indonesian Youth China Study Tour" from August 18 to 31, 2026. Applications are now open to Indonesian youth.

Program Background

China and Indonesia, as two major developing powers in Asia, recognize that people-to-people and educational exchanges bear the important responsibility of deepening mutual understanding between the younger generations and advancing mutual learning among civilizations.

Wenzhou, an open and inclusive coastal city in southeastern China, is known for its dynamic private economy and deep‑rooted light‑industry heritage. Its pioneering spirit of “daring to be the first” has given rise to a worldwide network of Wenzhou‑born entrepreneurs, making the city a major launching pad for Chinese businesses expanding globally. Wenzhou University, guided by its motto “Seek Truth and Knowledge, Dare to Be First,” is the only comprehensive university in the southern Zhejiang‑northern Fujian‑eastern Jiangxi region. As a key provincial university of Zhejiang, it offers robust academic strengths and has built deep cooperative ties with over 150 institutions across more than 30 countries and regions.

Building on Wenzhou's solid industrial foundation and Wenzhou University's strong educational capabilities, the university and Tsingshan Industrial Group co-founded the Wenzhou University Indonesia Tsingshan Silk Road College in 2024. With authorization from the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce and the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education, the college aims to nurture international young talents who are grounded in industry and connected to both China and Indonesia. It provides a platform for youth from both nations to learn together, grow, and develop deep friendships through cross-cultural dialogue.

The Wenzhou University Indonesia Tsingshan Silk Road College warmly welcomes more Indonesian youth to visit China and Wenzhou – to discover the beauty of the Chinese language, feel the drive of corporate innovation, enjoy the splendor of Wenzhou's scenery, and, through cross-cultural exchange, build friendships and expand their worldviews.

Program Content

The "Hello! Wenzhou – Indonesian Youth China Study Tour" includes:

(1) Chinese Language Learning

Basic courses in daily conversation, Chinese character culture, and Chinese reading and writing will be offered, allowing participants to experience the unique charm of the Chinese language

(2) Corporate Visits

Participants will visit Tsingshan Industrial Group's Wenzhou office, CHINT Group, Huafeng Group Co., Ltd., and other leading companies, giving them a firsthand experience of the energy and global ambition behind "Made in Wenzhou."

(3) Cultural Experiences

Participants will engage in hands-on cultural experiences such as calligraphy, traditional Hanfu attire, intangible cultural heritage crafts, and tea ceremony appreciation.

(4) Scenic Tours of Wenzhou

Participants will visit renowned historical and cultural sites such as Wuma Street, Nanxi River, and Yandang Mountain.

Target Participants

（1）Indonesian high school students (age 16 or above)

（2）Currently enrolled Indonesian university students (undergraduate and diploma programs)

（3）Individuals with a strong interest in Chinese language and culture

（4）Basic proficiency in English communication

Program Fees

（1）The total fee for tuition and activities is 4,000 RMB. A university-sponsored scholarship of 2,000 RMB is available to each participant, so the actual amount payable is 2,000 RMB.

（2）International airfare, visa fees, insurance, and other related expenses shall be borne by the participants themselves.

（3）The organizer will cover on-campus accommodation and meal expenses.
