Fourteen international students from Tanzania, Algeria, Pakistan, and Cameroon joined local officials at the China Data Security Hub on the morning of June 23 to explore entrepreneurship opportunities and discuss policy support for foreign talent.

The students toured the OPC International Youth Community, including its apartments and shared spaces, to learn about living conditions and the hub’s innovation ecosystem. They then sat down with representatives from the municipal and district human resources, commerce, and immigration departments.

At the symposium, Ding Qiang, deputy Party secretary of Wenzhou University’s College of International Education, briefed the officials on the university’s international student body. Several students shared their business ideas and raised practical questions about registration, market entry, and visa policies.

One Tanzanian student, Hanson, presented his existing company back home and outlined plans to launch a new venture in Wenzhou, specifying the type of government support he would need.

Local officials responded on the spot, addressing each query and clarifying the city’s incentive programs for overseas entrepreneurs.

The event served as a direct bridge between international youth and local decision-makers. The college says it will continue to facilitate such dialogues and help resolve bottlenecks, aiming to attract and retain more global talent in the city.
