From September 7 to 11, Wenzhou University's College of International Education welcomed its 2026 international freshmen, who arrived from around the world to begin their studies in China.
One-Stop Service Streamlines Registration
The college again adopted a "one-stop" registration model, combining drug testing, registration, insurance, accommodation, residence permit processing, and student status enrollment at a single on-site station, enabling students to complete all admission procedures in one day.

Working groups coordinated smoothly, verifying documents, completing forms, and distributing materials without requiring students to make extra trips. The Wenzhou Public Security Bureau's Anti-Drug Detachment, the Chashan Police Station in Ouhai District, and China Unicom also set up on-site services, including anti-drug education, drug testing, SIM card activation, and internet access. Faculty members handled verification, registration, and data entry in an orderly manner.
"It's my child's first time traveling so far from home, and seeing how thoughtfully the school has arranged everything, we feel reassured," said a parent of an Indonesian freshman.

International student volunteers were a standout presence, guiding newcomers, explaining procedures, and sharing their own experiences. "Seeing them is like seeing myself back then," said one volunteer. Rose, a freshman from Russia, completed her registration quickly with volunteers' help. "The students here are so warm and friendly—I feel much less nervous now," she said.

Dormitory Visits Offer Face-to-Face Support
During orientation, leaders of the College of International Education visited Chinese and international student dormitories to speak with newcomers and learn about their needs.
College leaders asked about students' daily routines, meals, and language communication, reminding them to follow electrical and fire safety rules and to contact counselors or dormitory staff when needed.
They paid particular attention to students new to China with weaker language foundations, encouraging senior students on the same floors to assist them and urging newcomers to join cultural activities. The college emphasized that dormitory visits are not a formality but a way to bring care to where students live, ensuring every international student feels at home at WZU.

The college will continue supporting international students through orientation education, legal awareness sessions, and cultural experiences, helping them succeed academically and personally at Wenzhou University.
